Who runs it

One person. My name is Eptekhar Hasan, I build and maintain this site from Bangladesh, and the "we" everywhere else on it is me.

I am not a contractor and never have been. That is worth saying at the top rather than burying it, because it is the reason the site is built the way it is. Having no trade experience to write from, I had to make sure nothing here depends on any: the statutory wording is cut out of the statute by a script instead of retyped, every figure a calculator uses is captured from the agency that publishes it, and the build refuses to ship a page whose numbers disagree with the data behind it. What I bring is the arithmetic and the file handling, and those come out the same whoever does them.

The practical version of that: if a number here is wrong, it is mine, and it gets fixed at the source rather than patched on the page.

What we do

We publish blank templates and browser based generators for the documents contractors use every week: invoices, estimates, quotes, bids, lien waivers and contractor agreements. Every document is available as a PDF and, where it makes sense, as an editable Word or Excel file.

How it is free

Display advertising is the entire business model. There is no paid tier, no account, no upsell and no list you get added to, because there is nothing to sell you.

There are no advertisements on the site yet. They are coming, and saying so now is cheaper than letting you find out later: when they arrive they go in places that do not move while you are reading, and nothing behind them changes. Same templates, same generators, still no sign up.

Advertising also sets a limit we hold ourselves to: no popups over the page, no interstitials between you and the download, and no notification prompts. If an ad format would get between a contractor and the file they came for, it does not run here.

Your data

The generators run entirely in your browser. The PDF is assembled on your own device by JavaScript on the page, so the customer names, addresses and prices you type are never transmitted to this site or to anyone else. Your own business details are stored in your browser's local storage purely so you do not retype them, and you can clear them by clearing site data.

Accuracy

These are general templates. Construction and lien law is set at state level and varies considerably. We say so on the documents that need it, particularly the lien waivers, where twelve states prescribe statutory wording. Nothing here is legal advice.

Where a state does print statutory wording, the form on this site is cut out of the statute rather than written to resemble it. How these forms are made shows where every one of those sections was read from and what we will not do to get at one.
