What else matters here
Eighty three sheets, six buckets, and a corner bead figure that is a rough guess and says so. Bead is the one item on a drywall list that cannot be derived from area, because it depends entirely on how many outside corners the space has.
Count them instead. Every outside corner, every window return if the window is drywall wrapped, every soffit edge and every column. Measure the height or length of each and add ten percent. A plain rectangular basement might have two corners in 2,400 square feet, an open plan main floor with wrapped openings can have thirty.
The type is a separate decision. Metal bead is cheap and dead straight and dents if something hits it. Vinyl does not dent or rust and suits a basement or a bathroom. Paper faced metal is what most finishers reach for because it goes on with compound rather than nails and gives the straightest corner, and tear off bead is what you want anywhere the drywall meets a different material.
What this calculator assumes
- Joint compound is figured at one 4.5 gallon bucket per 475 sq ft of board for a full three coat finish. A level 5 finish uses more.
- Tape is figured at 380 linear feet per 1000 sq ft of board, screws at 32 per sheet for 16 inch on center framing.
- Longer sheets mean fewer butt joints, which is less taping and a flatter wall. Use 12 footers where they will fit through the door.
