What else matters here
Seventy four boxes is a pallet and a half, somewhere around two tons for most engineered and vinyl products. That is a delivery with a lift gate, a plan for where it goes, and a floor structure that can carry it while it acclimates.
Do not stack it all in one room. Two tons concentrated on a single span of floor joists is a genuine point load; spread the pallets across several rooms and near bearing walls rather than in the middle of the largest span.
At this size, measure room by room rather than taking the house square footage off a listing. Listed square footage usually includes wall thicknesses, stairs and sometimes areas you are not flooring, and using it directly will have you ordering material you do not need.
What this calculator assumes
- 10 percent waste covers a straight lay in a simple rectangle. Go to 15 for a diagonal or herringbone lay, and 20 if the room is cut up with closets and angles.
- Buy the whole job in one delivery. Dye lot and batch shade move between production runs, and a single replacement box six months later will not match.
